The Beacon: 2023 12/17

The timeless truth of Revelation 22:13 NLT continues to resonate, capturing the eternal nature of Jesus Christ, who stands as the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. These profound words serve as the timeless bookends to the vast expanse of human history.

In His role as the eternal Son of the everlasting Father, Jesus surpasses the confines of time, embracing the entirety of human existence. Despite life's unpredictable twists and turns, He remains unshaken, a constant and never-surprised presence.

While our daughter's passing seemed accidental from our perspective, God knew from the moment He entrusted her to us that this would occur.

Though the reasons escape my understanding, I choose to trust Him. Recognizing God's control and lack of surprise becomes a source of comfort, affirming the presence of Jesus with my departed child.

Even in the face of enduring pain and an ongoing lack of understanding, an unwavering commitment exists to trust in the eternal, ever-present, and ever-faithful Jesus. This recognition of Jesus' eternal nature forms a foundation for trust, providing stability amid life's most challenging moments.

As life's narrative unfolds, marked by joy and sorrow, one foundational truth remains unchanged—Jesus, the eternal One, is present in every moment, from the first heartbeat to the final breath. And as we navigate the uncharted waters of existence, we find assurance in the unchanging promise that He is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

"Lord, I often get so caught up in the present moment that I lose sight of eternity. Forgive me. When surprises come my way, help me find rest in You—the Beginning and the End—and instill trust in You—the Alpha and Omega. Grant me the grace to face each day with settled assurance, knowing that whatever it may bring, you hold it in Your hand."
